Werewolf by Night 32

The top selling comic book last month was Werewolf by Night 32

Werewolf by Night #32 was one of the best-selling comics at Comic Buying Center in January. But what exactly makes this particular issue interesting?

Werewolf by Night comic series

The Werewolf by Night comic series debuted in 1972, created by writer Gerry Conway and artist Mike Ploog, based on an idea by editor Roy Thomas. The first issue of Werewolf by Night was well-received, thanks to its unique premise and atmospheric art. The story introduces Jack Russell and his tragic curse, inherited from his father, and his ultimate quest to discover his family’s dark secrets. The series was part of Marvel’s expansion into supernatural themes during the early 1970s, created thanks to the loosening of the Comics Code Authority’s restrictions on horror content. The series tells stories of the life of Jack Russell, a young man cursed with lycanthropy, and explores his struggles to control his transformation into a werewolf while protecting the innocent. The series gained popularity for its dark themes, Gothic atmosphere, and unique mix of horror and superhero elements. This mix was a novelty back then. Notable story arcs include Jack’s battle with the Darkhold, a cursed book central to his family’s history, and the introduction of Moon Knight in werewolf by night 32, who was initially hired to capture Jack. The series ran for 43 issues, concluding in 1977.

Werewolf by Night

Werewolf by Night issue #32

Werewolf by night issue 32, published in August 1975, was a big thing, as it introduced a brand new character – Moon Knight. Created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, the story features Moon Knight, a mercenary hired by a secretive organization known as The Committee to capture the Werewolf, Jack Russell. Equipped with silver weaponry, Moon Knight confronts the Werewolf over three consecutive nights, leading to awesome fights between two characters. The issue was well-received, with readers intrigued by Moon Knight’s mysterious persona and whether he would defeat Jack or lose.

How much is the Werewolf by Night 32

Werewolf by night comic 32, published in August 1975, is still a rather popular issue among those who like to sell comic books. As the first appearance of Moon Knight, this issue still holds value, but werewolf by night #32 value is heavily affected by its conditions. But the price was also affected by increased interest in the character from Marvel Entertainment and his TV mini series. This may also mean that Moon Knight may get more screen time, possibly in new Marvel movies, or maybe even his very own solo movie. These are just speculations, of course, but everything is possible.
