Batman #1 was one of the best-selling comics at Comic Buying Center in December, known as the first solo Batman issue. It remains a desired classic among collectors and those who like to sell comic books. So what makes it popular and batman #1 value so high?
Batman comic series
The original Batman comic series debuted in 1940, following the character’s success in Detective Comics. Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, the series offered Batman his very own solo title. The issue also introduced the Joker and Catwoman, two of the most enduring and popular villains in comic history. The series followed Bruce Wayne as Batman, a billionaire fighting crime in Gotham City alongside his sidekick Robin. Unlike other comics Batman had a dark tone and gripping stories, which turned it into a cultural phenomenon. Memorable storylines included Batman’s early battles with the Joker and his quest to protect Gotham while also fighting his tragic past. The original series ran until 2011, concluding with issue #713 before being relaunched as part of DC Comics’ “New 52” initiative. Its mix of action, complex characters, and grim dark narratives made Batman one of the most iconic and influential comic series ever. As well as one of the most popular characters ever.
