Silver Surfer Comic Series
The Silver Surfer comic series debuted in August 1968, created by a famous duo of Stan Lee and John Buscema. While the character was originally introduced in Fantastic Four #48 (1966) by Jack Kirby, his solo series gave readers a deeper understanding of who Silver Surfer was and his cosmic adventures. Unlike most superheroes, Silver Surfer – previously Norrin Radd – was not a traditional crimefighter but a cosmic wanderer, fighting his own guilt over serving Galactus as his herald.

Silver Surfer 1, published in August 1968, was the solo debut of the hero previously introduced in Fantastic Four. Silver Surfer #1 value in 2025 depends on its condition. A Near Mint (9.4) copy has previously sold for $33,000, with only nine copies known at this grade. The highest recorded sale was $132,000.
Lower-grade copies are still quite valuable. A Good (2.0) copy that sold for $45 in 2005 is now worth about $225. A Very Good (4.0) copy is valued at $350, while a Fine (6.0) copy is around $550.
